Golden Hour, Golden Woman

When I say I am “a lifestyle photographer chasing the light”, this kind of session is what I’m talking about.  I’m talking about light so warm it makes your skin tingle, even though there is still a chill in the air.  I’m talking about specks of dust reflecting rays of light and making it hard to see.  I’m talking about beams radiating out of one of my oldest and dearest friends, Emily.  This woman is light, so it was appropriate that while I was visiting her up in Edmonton we headed out during “golden hour” to capture some of it.  She is a mother, a blogger, and an artist.  Her husband and her have the sweetest daughter who they affectionately call “Bug”, and it is clear to anyone they come in contact with that they love her just the way parents should love their children.  Completely unconditionally.  She is a dear with big round eyes and a gentle demeanour.  She reminds me of her mother.  They have decided for now not to post photos of her face on the internet, so if you want to see the rest of this shoot, featuring her lovely baby face, you’ll have to contact her mama directly!  (And you should , because in my humble opinion, the cuteness factor of the baby ups the lovely-ness of the photos significantly.)

Sometimes you make friends that you drift away from over time, sometimes you make friends and have to work to make the conversation flow, and sometimes you get lucky and make friends that you can go months without seeing and still pick up right where you left off.

This is my beautiful friend Emily.
