This Is Brynn

As a society we determine beauty most often by what we can see.  We judge the symmetry of a person’s face and the fitness of their body.  We quickly make judgements on people’s worth and social standing based on a very limited set of qualifications, none of which have very much at all to do with what makes a person beautiful. As women we compare ourselves to each other based on this same list.  We criticize the parts of ourselves that we feel are lacking and work so hard to minimize our flaws.  When I look at Brynn Linsey I see a beautiful woman.  Physically, outwardly, she is beautiful by any standards.  She has a unique and compelling sense of style, she is tall and slender and with big blue eyes and “stop you in the street” hair.  She is beautiful.  But the loveliness that is Brynn comes from the shining light behind her eyes that speaks to years of hardship and struggle and joy and love.  She is beautiful because of her grace and compassion and empathy.  She has earned her beauty.  It was an absolute honour to have the opportunity to spend some time with her this week capturing the inner beauty as well as the visible.  This is Brynn and she is beautiful.
