The Midnight Blue Dress

I was so grateful when H & C reached out to me and asked me to shoot their New Years wedding.  And despite the cold temperatures and the fact that they were under the weather, their day was completely lovely.  This wedding was so laid back and full of warmth and love.  When I asked H in our consultation what the most important part of the day was to her (i.e: the dance, the meal, the ceremony) she answered, without hesitation, "the people".  This was so evident throughout the day.  They moved through the day and evening with so much grace and consideration for the people around them.  The bride wore a killer midnight blue sequinned dress, they had live music (provided by some of my favourites, Me & The Mrs., Lewis Frere, and Brava Duo), and good food and drink - all wrapped up in the elegant and fun atmosphere at Heritage Park.  There was a wonderfully intimate sense of community present.  It was an honour to be asked to document this experience for them.  Here are a few of my favourite images from the day.  Enjoy!
